I've got an endowment which I kept as an investment after changing the morgage several years ago. I now want to sell it, any tips or suggestions as to where I will get the best price.

I put mine out for quotes a couple of months back.
They varied from offers of £4,000 to almost £4,900.
At the time I was having a dispute over the surrender value, so didn't sell. Recently put it up for sale again, and the highest quote previously had dropped by over £800.
So again, trawling the market makers. Again quotes are varying by almost £800 so far. And those that were highest before, are some of the lowest, one of the lower ones before is the best so far.
So..... shop around as it seems to depend on what kind of day they are having!

This company will offer it to several market makers, who'll write to you with offers. It saves you giving them all the details ten times over (you'll need the surrender value, the bonuses to date, the basic sum assured, the start and end dates, and some ask for the sum payable on death). And the policy number.
(all this applies to with profits policies, I don't know about unit linked).
Of those I contacted directly, and not via APMM, I also tried Robin Lloyd, and there were two others in this weeks' Financial Mail, Integrity and Oakwood (?) - I haven't had my quotes from the last two.
I found that last time, when I got a higner quote than that offered by Robin Lloyd, they upped their offer to £100 more.
This time, they made a very low bid. I rang yesterday to ask if they had any better, telling them I'd had £4,700 and they said no. Today, the left a message, about a new bid. Hmm, wonder just how high they CAN go?
So, my advice, being an expert an'all (LOL), is to get as many as possible.
And, please, if anyone knows of any companies that made good bids, please post, 'cos I am on a hunt to make £5,000!0 -
Having a bit of frustration selling mine.
Had 3 quotes. Went with AAP - TIS Group
After 2-3 weeks.
TIS Group have told me Norwich Union want 18 working days notice to complete. Norwich claimed not to have received notice the first notice from TIS Group. So TIS claim to be chaing up Norwich Union.
Have not been impresed with Norwich Union to be honest. In past or present.
It seems to go one for ever. >:(Treat everyday as your last one on earth! and one day you will be right.0 -
Norwich Union are slow on the paperwork front. Its a case of merging too many companies too quickly and having offices all over the place.
I received a clients policy documents this morning for a plan that commenced 6th August. In the same post i got a standard life that commenced 2nd Sept and a scottish life on the 1st Sept. That gives you an idea of their service standard for new business. Existing business is lower priority.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).
