Anyone had theirs die on them ?
I know it's a know fault by Renault now after Watchdog publicly spanked them on national TV and I'll have to cough up £100 to get it replaced  but just wondering if anyone has had this done, are the parts in stock and how long do Renault take to call you in for the repair ?

I'd give Renault UK customer service a ring...0 -
I gave customer services a call to arrange to have mine done (I wasn't going to wait for them to call me!). It was 5 days from my initial phone call to collecting my car.
The toast proposed at our wedding was for "health, wealth and happiness". Our family may not have the health and wealth but we make up for it with the happiness:D

Just phoned the local Renault dealer as I need chasis number etc... and couldn't do it yesterday, booked in for Tuesday morning so not so bad so far, I'll get the parking brake software glitch sorted at the same time too.
Any idea how long it takes to replace a panel ?I am trying, honest;) very trying according to my dear OH:rotfl:0 -
Ours went last week, a week before the warranty expired but they covered the £100 cost. Renault mallusk had the part in stock, took it in and it took them about an hour to change it.0

Be very careful and specific with them, ask them to note your mileage on the computer and transfer it to the new clock, they can do this easily, but they can just as easily not bother, you'll then have no idea, or proof of the mileage and this will make for a resale nightmare.
If this is not done, the mileage will go back to 000000 which sounds great to begin with but imagine the suspicion of trying to sell a 5 year old car with 10000 on the clock..0 -
Mine went about six weeks after buying the car (it was second hand, about five years old). The dealer got it replaced, and didn't charge me as it had happened so soon after he sold it to me, which I thought was very reasonable because he had warned me about the possibility of it happening before I bought the car. Anyway, I had it all sorted within a few days. They didn't set the mileage to the correct figure, but in reality they couldn't because when the dash 'went' one of the faults was that it put stupid mileage on (e.g. I drove to the shop a mile away, and by the time I got home again the mileage had gone up by something like 14,000 miles!) so I had no idea myself what the true mileage was. But I have kept the MOT cert, which records the true mileage, from about a fortnight before the dash went, and I'm hoping that by presenting that at re-sale any potential buyer can add that to the amount on the clock and I can prove I'm not trying to lie about the mileage.0

I would think if you are able to show traceability of the mileage to a very small approximation then you rbuyer will understand, especially as this is a widely known problem.
I have mine traceable to within about 2-3K miles as it had a service shortly before the dash went and both the service and the dash change are recorded on Renault's centralised service record, of which I have a printout.0
