Without Predjudice F&F

Can someone please help?

I have been offered in writing a Full and final settlement of one of my accounts and although only saving me £20 its £20 I can pay extra to something else and then frees up £50 a month.

However the letter I received has in bold at the top 'Without Predjudice'

What does this mean?
Debt free as of 7.20am on 31st December 2012.

'Without prejudice' means that they are protecting themselves against your case becoming a precedent or you being able to get a full and final from them in the future.
I used to think that good grammar is important, but now I know that good wine is importanter.

So if i don't take this offer they will not offer me one again?

What about the other £20, do they write it off or do they sell it on for someone else to chase me?

It doesn't mean they won't offer it again. Just that you can't hold them to it at a future point in time.

How much is the balance? You might want to consider a counter offer with a bigger reduction - if you do have a look here for a template letter - http://www.nationaldebtline.co.uk/england_wales/factsheet.php?page=24_full_and_final_settlement_offers

To be honest the balance is only £98.50 so I cant really be bothered to argue the point. At least it will be one less to pay every month.

~80% seems high? Is it a short term outstanding debt? Personally I'd counter 35% and try and meet at 50%.
