You and me both !
I mean , it is nice to expect the unexpected and hope something amazing is going to turn up .
BUT , always happens to others , not myself .0 -
i know you shudnt expect to win things and should enter for the fun of it, but it would be nice to win something, some people win loads n i just win nothing0

How many competitions do you enter?
Most of the people who win big here enter hundreds if not thousands of competitions.
I have had quite a lot of small wins... mainly from blogs, facebook or twitter comps, where fewer people enter.
Mainly it's simply down to the odds. Enter more comps or ones where fewer people enter. Or accept that maybe it's not the hobby for you
Of course luck does come in to it too! I won £100 worth of Lotto tickets a week or 2 ago which was really exciting :j :j :j until after the draw when I found that £100 was translated into... you guessed it, absolutely nothing :rotfl: . Ah well it was nice while it lasted :cool:0 -
I've been comping for a year and haven't won anything yet.0

I've done quite well this year, i started serious comping at the beginning of July this year doing all of the competitions for the days on here (well those that was relevant to me and the family).
I've just totalled up and running a couple of quid under £3000, so not bad, but I must have entered thousands and thousands of competitions, winning anything from a few sweets (which goes down very well on poker night!:D) to a VIP Trip to London worth over £1000 (this was actually me second ever win in the world of comps)
So just stick at it enter as many competitions as you can and wait for the knock on the door.
Also try entering those that take a bit of an effort to win, as less people enter them.
I love reading the I Won section of the forum, and feel ever so chuffed when an MSe'er steals the prize! :j
I set my MSE pages up to sort by date, that way I never miss any, though very rarely do a get two days ahead! Some people do it so they enter competitions as they come onto the forum list. Its just personal preference. Maybe we should do a poll to find out how each of us sets their pages up :rotfl:
I read the post by VelvetGlove here in which she give you sound advice for comping. these have been a god send to me and I know to other here too.
Wishing you all the very best of luck in all competitions. :grouphug: I look forward to reading about all your wins soon in this section.
(Hope this doesn't sound patronising, I don't mean it that way at all)"Isn't it nice to think that tomorrow is a new day with no mistakes in it yet?" - Lucy Maud Montgomery :hello:
:T:jThank you to all the competition posters, you are all brilliant! :j:T0 -
Sorry to hear you are not getting the luck at the moment. Do an average week and count how many you do. Tally it because I thought I did quite a few then I did a tally and it was less than I thought. Maybe it's because I've got a slow computer but I thought I was doing tons and some days it was as little as 40.
Good luck with the next few weeks. Quite often in the IWonIwon section there are tales of people who hadn't won anything forever then when they are about to give up they win a wonderful holiday or something!Since starting again after beanie: June 2016: Child development DVDs, Massive Attack tickets. July: Aberystwyth trip, hotmilk nightie. Aug: £10 Hipp Organic vouchers, powerpack. September: Sunglasses. October: £30 poundland vouchers.0 -
I agree with Popfan that it's a numbers game but I think 100 - 150 entries every day is needed to guarantee a steady flow of the smaller items.By steady flow I mean one a week.
If I only entered 50 a day i'd consider it to be having a rest and not really expect to win anything. The 50 entries would mostly be for the higher value prizes that loads of people enter and the chances of winning are very low.0 -
Just keep at it and enter lots of different types of competitions. I'm still waiting for my big win*Katie*
