What to do with apples and pears

I was given a huge batch of homegrown apples and pears a few weeks ago and I'm not sure what I can do with them - was sure someone on here could lend a hand here!
Basically, they are starting to go soft but I really don;t want them to go to waste. Unfortunately, neither of us like eating them like fruit lol so I'm looking for some kind of dessert or recipe I can use them for.
Any ideas gratefully received :j
