  • Thanks all-I am actually doing some of it now...
And yes, you get a £100 fine if they aren't in on time-stupid waste of money that would be-like p*****g up a tree as they say...

Just as a word of warning; tax bod advised me the other day that we should try to get all forms in at least a day early, because of the civil servants' strike. And if you're posting, to do so recorded... because if the strike means yours doesn't get logged on time then you could get a fine automatically generated by the big evil computer which you'd then have the hassle of sorting out. Don't know how likely or otherwise that would be, but if it helps with the impetus to get it done....!

Hi Bunny, have you done your assessment yet?

I have, don't have a great sense of relief though more like an impending sense of doom.:o

I've done it the old fashioned way on paper but I may do it on line so I know they've got it.
    Good luck.

Hangs head in shame... ok me too, it's amazing how urgently the windows/ oven/ dog needed cleaning this weekend, oh and I've been doing the room to room shuffle too. OH hasn't done his yet either and can't find a single bank statement or receipt (not going to find them in the Xbox hon).

Every year I ask why on earth I don't start in April, but then I remember why… it’s because I hate it, it's boring and crap and why god invented accountants.

  • With help of posh London accountant I have just finished my SA tax return. I have measured it. It is 3 inches thick (photocopied supplementary pages).
(This does not include supporting documents, which fill a box 8" x 12" x 7").

I am only a humble freelance clipboard!

Tax doesn't have to be taxing? What ***** dreamt that one up?

But has is anyone submitting an even bigger one....??!!

  • I'm starting to wonder about lenny you know!! He was offering to speed up the arrival of immorals baby as well!
Its the thought thats worse (with the tax!!) once you sit down and do it you wish you'd done it before (still talking about the tax), I find it makes me bad tempered so I just give in and do it, especially if its going to cost you £100 if you don't do it bl**dy soon!!
    ........kick..........!!!!!!!!!!!!!
