1st big step applying for DRO some hand holding needed

My total debt = £12,569 (not including student loans but thats another thread)
The CCCS advise is to go for DRO
Ive been trying for last 4 months to pay gesture type payments to my creditors, cant do it any more.
Is there any of you willing to give me a hand to hold?
Also, I need to know if overpayments from Tax Credits can be included in the DRO, along with over payments from the council, of benefits (from 2007) that they want back?
No flaming please. Im a depressed state.
