What is the typical cost of a heat pumps system conversation?

I have also heard they heat and generate electricity, which you can get back via the feed in tariff scheme. any one have any experiences of this.

Are they cost effective in the long run?

Hello,

Think of an ASHP in terms of a central heating boiler. It does not generate electricity. Depending on which fuel you are changing from e.g. oil, LPG etc it can be very cost effective. Price can vary enormously depending on your property size and requirements. Perhaps best to line up a number of installers and do some site visits to get a feel for the technology.

EDIT: Perhaps your thinking of the RHI Renewable heat Incentive scheme?

Lot of information in the above link - seems about £10,000 is a ballpark figure from posts on here(EST state £6,000 to £10,000)
