Non payment of wages

I left my employment on the 4.11.11 and payment was due on 15.11.11. Nothing has been received and I am so upset. I am owed approx £750.00 and am really struggling financially and need paying asap.
I have so far - emailed a request for payment on payday and followed this up with a letter hand delivered that evening saying that I had not been paid. I waited yesterday for a response and have had no contact or wages.
I have today phoned them every half hour from 7:30 am (opening time) and have not managed to get through. The answer machine picks up each time. My messages have been polite asking for them to return my calls as soon as possible. I did get a little cross during the last message and pointed out that it is against the law to with hold wages, but still no response. I have tried from different numbers and withheld my number in case they are avoiding me. I just don't know what to do? Please advise
I would really appreciate any help, thank you

You need to give them a bit more time I'm afraid. Quite often final payments are made up to a month or more later, for various reasons, the only legal requirement being that it is with a reasonable timescale. No harm in badgering them regularly, but if you become a pain in the !!! then its only human nature that they will ignore you.0

What type of employer are they? (Different approach for different organisation may be in order):heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.0

Back off a bit. You don't mention speaking to anyone so all that is happening is that no one has picked up or replied to your messages/emails/letters. Calling every half hour and leaving another message and claiming they are withholding wages is a bit sensationalist right now.
What industry are we talking here? Also do you have any training, uniform or equipment costs that they could need to calculate?
What I would do is pop in office tomorrow afternoon and politely enquire on when you can expect to receive the wages and final payslip. If they say it could be complicated and they need to work it out ask if they can perhaps pay you half now and the rest when its worked out.
But going bull-in-a-china-shop style isn't going to help right now. They are 2 days behind official pay day and it could be as simple as they posted you a cheque and it hasn't reached you yet. If they are having problems and haven't done the cheque yet being very aggressive about it isn't going to make them want to work faster to get it done.0
