When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free :money:

Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.

So be proud of those small steps, they really are important.:D

Good Morning all nearly the end of the week not sure where everyone is to do hope you are all well.

My list today is
1.Take kids to Nannys (was meant to be going to work but have not been ill think food poisioning as kids and I where all ill at the same time)
2.Do some work while kids at Nannys yippee got lots done.
3. Check bank done also got paid for Job which though would have ended Paid £400 of CC yippee (holiday paid)
4.Make some play dough with left over flour ! Not done as DH forgot to pick up cheap salt !
5.Do some surveys if any there. Did one 40p and the other 10p

That is it for me today as not feeling to great still. Hekp with the food stores though as not been eating much.

  • Hi,

1, Will be having last night's leftovers for lunch.
2, Will be paying in some £200 into the savings account.

    Regards
  • Morning!

    1. Brought in lunch from home today.
    2. Dinner will be something out of the freezer
    3. List some more items on ebay tonight after work

That's about it for today, so not much but hey...look after the pennies and all that!
  • Hi everyone/
Hope you feel better soon Tebheag.

Well I had a mini disater last night, my super duper, ultra warm horse riding/yard boots which are never off my feet all winter ( I wear them for walking dogs and they are brilliant in snow) fell to bits!. Well actually I had to cut the right one off after the zip broke and stuck just under my knee and was not gonna budge. :( They were starting to go around the seals and surface crack across the top but were so warm I was wanting to get another year out of them.
So now I have a problem, having to replace them. (about £100. I know this may seem excessive for a pair of wellies but anyone who spends any time with horses will tell you that the ammonia in their urine melts glue in cheap wellies.) Plus these paticular ones are no longer made so gonna have to go hunting for replacements. Will have to look at this months budget, can't stand having cold feet all winter (have Muck Boots but they are sooo cold.)

Right, so thats my little rant over, day off today, OH has pinched my car again this morning (well I assume so as it's gone!) so can't get far. this morning.
    Todays list:
Carry on with the great house tidy and declutter (not getting far at the moment!)
Take Mum to Mr A this afternoon when my car reappears.
Finish sewing project (prezzie for Mum so can declutter that by taking it later) and put away spare threads.
Figure out what to do with the piece of pork that is now defrosted.
    NSD.
Check Onepoll a couple of times.
    Photo more stuff for Ebay.
    List more stuff on Ebay!

    Have a good day everyone!
  • Morning all! Signed off work at the moment but I'm determined not to stay in bed all day! So far:

    • Ordered replacement parts for my PC (rather than buy a new one!)
    • Rather than spend 99p on a CD by someone I've never heard I decided to check them out first on Spotify for free - glad I did! CD's rubbish!
    • Bagels for breakfast - reduced in Co-Op down to 10p for a bag of five!
    • Went to my local hardware shop yesterday to get Redez for my car - they had a non branded alternative for £2 so will be going back to get some more today!

    Hello there my lovelies

Thanks for starting us off Tebheag :) Hope you're feeling ok now.

Oh Aria's Tail, that's a shame about the wellies. No point having cold feet all winter if you can help it though so I hope you can jiggle some money around :)

Hey DNMS - hope you feel better after taking some time out for yourself :)

    My small things:
    • Go to bed at 9pm - tiring week at work & got a long drive tomorrow - will take my book, a hot water bottle and an alpaca fleecy blanket. Ahh.
    • Gave OH a lift - saved him bus fare
    • Bought a cheaper lunch - saved £1.39
    • Changed car hire booking (early tomorrow am rather than this pm) - saved £15.
    • Moved money from savings to current account - better than overdraftdom :o
I'm at my friend's wedding this weekend so catch up with y'all on Monday. Take care of yourselves xxx
