Put the feelers out for free wood. Tell everyone you know. I did the same and have a steady supply of free wood at the moment from a roofing job my stepdad's friend is doing. Wont last forever but I'm sure something else will come up. Look out for free pallets too. I am also buying in large bags of coal to store for when the weather is really cold, stick a load on overnight and the room will still be warm in the morning and you can get the fire going again.

Unless you know exactly how he wood has been treated in the past, be very, very cautious.
While it's not the case at the moment - recently treated wood is somewhat less toxic, treated wood in the past may have extremely high levels of arsenic and other compounds in.
Even neglecting the possible environmental effects, the ash, and fumes from the fire will be highly toxic.
People have actually died from this, though admittedly that's not likely, heavy metal poisoning is a subtle thing with no clear symptoms or reliable eartly warnig signs.0
