Car finance query???

  • Finding the monthly payments is not the only issue - how are you going to find the lump sum payable at the end of the agreement in October?

Your best option all round is to advise the Finance company that the car has been abandoned by their customer and they will arrange to uplift and you will have nothing to pay as you are not on the agreement. Use the funds you would have used for the payments to get you into a vehicle more in line with your income.

Continuing to pay can only end in tears as at some point - unless you can afford all the payments and make on time and pay the lump sum due in October 2012 - the car will go back to the Finance company.

OP have you visited www.entitledto.co.uk to ensure you're getting the benefits you're entitled to?

If you're only bringing home £408 per month you should be recieving tax credits and might even be entitled to a small amount of council tax benefit and housing benefit.

I was only able to find part time work until about a year ago and managed to claim as much in benefits as I did in wages at the time. Worth looking into and fighting for.

This might then cover any loan you're able to take out to cover his finance agreement.

Of course now, before anyone starts, I am paying back what I claimed - I'm paying nearly £2,000 PA NI and nearly £5,000 PA Income Tax so the government have all the benefits I prevoiusly claimed back in their pocket :o
