A long time ago I was a union rep (not NHS), you said that you cancelled union membership. Was this when you left work or before? If you were a member to the end you could get in touch and raise what we used to call a personal case. I don't want to raise your hopes but I have seen some good results including:
a refund of a lump sum deducted coupled with monthly repayments.
a refund of a lump sum and cancellation of the overpaymentProud to have dealt with my debts, became debt free on 03/11/2011. Repaid £54,723.41 LBM May 2006.

Hi Mort, I cancelled the membership because I no longer am in employment and so didn't think I would need it but needed the money it cost me monthly. I have written to them (Friday, not so urgent now is it when they need to reply!! Grrr) asking for justification of the claim, their procedures for reclaiming overpayments and letting people know etc. and exact breakdown of figures. The original letter doesn't mention the money they took from me so I don't know whether they have included it in the calculation or not.
If I get no joy from them I will contact the Union. Many thanks :-)DMP started Oct '17: £79,974 :eek::eek::eek::eek:0
