Bryan Carter Solicitors

Apologies if this is the wrong thread to post but wanted some advice really.

I am with CCCS who have been fantastic and are helping me to be debt free by end of next year. About a month ago, I received, what I would best describe as, a threatening phone call to my mobile from someone in Bryan carter about money i was due (the account they referred to is in my DMP and have been paying is faithfully since last year and never missed any payments). They said they were outside my house, then threatened to come to my work. They said that DMP was of no use, its not legal, and they were entitled to their money which they would find me to get. I told them I had received no paperwork from them, insisted they send it and if they were going to operate like this, they could take me to court.

I was near to tears and contacted CCCS who were great and contacted Carter Forbes/Frederickson (of which offshoot were Bryan Carter??). The phone calls stopped for the last few weeks and have now started up again, I have them on my reject list so i can see when they have called but it esentially screens my calls. I am now at my wits end. My husband is housebound and very ill and i scared they will appear at the door (whilst I am at work) and take money from him.

Could someone maybe advise me on how to deal with them? I wish to write to them but not quite sure what I should be saying.

Many thanks
Shaz x

Unfortunately they are correct in that a DMP is not legally binding. It is not, however they should not be contacting you if they are part of your DMP. As long as you are paying, they are legally not allowed to contact you. Contact your DMP provider again and send a letter to them advising them you are going to report them for harrassment.
Debt free as of 7.20am on 31st December 2012.

    Wow. Feels great :j
