require pharmacy placement 14hours weekly even unpaid

Hi sorry to be a pain but I’m still looking for a pharmacy placement even unpaid so I can complete my pharmacy technician nvq 3 course needing only 14hours min in a pharmacy willing to travel. bedfordshire, berkshire, hertfordshire, northamptonshire, buckinghamshire and so on
I remember someone responding to my post and stating hospice, after trying to search for information I found a hospice but they aren’t taking more worker/volunteers on.
Just wondering if anyone knows any hospice or charity’s that offer pharmacy work experience I know of Marie curie. Anyone know of any others please? Or any unpaid 14hour per week jobs? Thank you

  • Having worked in pharmacy for years my cynical head thinks most employers would bite your hand off if you offered to work for free, especially the one with the green bags! But they may have certain restrictions regarding signing off your NVQ course stuff. You may do better approaching an independent pharmacy if there are any left in your area & offering to work for them but try & pick one that isn't too busy or you may find the other staff simply don't have time to help you! I found Saturday afternoons or later evenings (supermarkets or 100hour pharmacies probably best for this) were the best times for training.

Could you complete it in a hospital pharmacy?
And I find that looking back at you gives a better view, a better view...

Not worked in pharmacy for 18 months now, & even then the nearest I got to you was Oxford working for the big chain beginning with L. I've more experience in Bristol but can't think of any independents who could take you on as they've all sold up & left the profession, sorry.

I was a member on this forum for locum pharmacists, which has a wide locum membership. Maybe someone on there can suugest a pharmacy you could approach. If not, you may get an idea of all those you shouldn't consider working in!

I'm amazed to hear any pharmacy is overstaffed - obviously never been lucky enough to work in one of them. Sorry I can't help any further.
