Football themed wedding

Hello all,
We are going with a (subtle) football themed wedding. We don't want to go overboard, however, and will just add a few touches here and there. Fopr example, we are having football related table names, and on each bottle of wine on each table we are having those little t-shirts that go round them with player names on.
Can anyone suggest any other football related touches for us to add?

What about football chocolates for favours.0

for the grooms party could you get football cufflinks? or maybe have a quiz on each table about football and associated things such as famous footballers?0

My sister's garter had a football on it!
How are you naming the tables? After teams, players, grounds etc?VSP - £14.76 | Saving for a Deposit0 -
Our wedding is loosely everton based, the things we're doing are - our colour theme is royal blue, our table names are after players, we're leaving the ceremony to their theme tune and I have an everton garter.
A few people on here have got a letter from their groom from their football team which can tie it in further and can be presented and given out at speeches.
If you support West Ham you could have bubbles on the tables as favours. But doesnt tie in if you don't.0 -
Hire a table football game
Have the wedding photos done in "team shot" style
Walk down the aisle to the match of the day theme ()
Football wedding cake
Red / yellow cards as place settings
Flower arrangements in football boots
Football scarves as favours / decorations0 -
Really love the 'team shot' wedding photo idea! We could maybe do one with all our guests wearing kilts?
Think we will be naming the tables after some of my favourite players.Getting married to a wonderful lady on August 10, 2012.

My OH is a member of a hockey team and at the last couple of team weddings the bride & groom have asked all the guests who are on the team to bring their hockey shirts with them for a photo. It looks really cool, don't know if something like that would work if you're not on a team though.0

We did!
We had football themed table plan and place names. Here is our table plan:
Here are our table names:
And here are our place names:
Our tables were names after our favourite Plymouth Argyle players
And after reading above, here is our team photo group shot:Green and White Barmy Army!0 -
We are having cupcakes as our cake but also having half a football with me & OH in our spurs kits ontop for our top cake. I'm also having a Tottenham garter and he is having Tottenham cufflinks. We've also booked a local sports center which has 5 a-side pitches for our reception so the lads can play football in the evening. What team do you/your H2b support? x:footie: COYS :footie:

I was going to suggest the football pitch table plan as well - if you want something a bit more subtle maybe you could get the background very washed out and looking more like grass?"A mind needs books as a sword needs a whetstone, if it is to keep its edge." - Tyrion LannisterMarried my best friend 1st November 2014Loose = the opposite of tight (eg "These trousers feel a little loose")Lose = the opposite of find/gain (eg "I'm going to lose weight this year")0
