2 defaults, same debt? Or are they clever? Or Am I wrong?

I have a default registered against me for my NRAM Loan. It was then passed to a DCA.
I reclaimed PPI and then NRAM took back the loan and marked the original default as satisfied £0 balance.
They have started up a new account for the remainder of the balance to which I will also be defaulted on if I cannot maintain the agreed full payments (which I cant).
Am I going to be defaulted on the same debt twice? Or are they clever by starting it under a new account number? Or am I wrong? lol.
Thanks.

Doesn't sound fair to me to have a new account for the same debt just because you reclaimed PPI, but I'm no expert.
Best complain in writing, send signed for, then at least when they send you a final response (or 8 weeks if they don't bother) you can refer to the FOS for their opinion.

Hi Justin,
Well, I'm a single man at the moment. We're reconcilling for now and she has promised to change, so we'll see how it goes. Regarding my sanity, well thats long gone LOL.
Hows tricks with you?
Thanks HB, I'll see how I get on!

You cannot have 2 defaults for the same debt. Its definitely against ICO guidelines.
I would inform (in writing) that despite the fact that they have changed your account number (if they have) this is the same credit agreement and as such they must not record it as a seperate account on your credit file and they cannot record another default for this debt as there is already one dated xdate.
Thats all assuming they haven't got you to sign a new credit agreement since you had the PPI back.A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -
Hi Tixy,
All I signed was the PPI re-claim form, no credit agreements were included in that.
Will that be the case even though the original default is satisfied completely?
Thanks
