28.1.07 what small DFW/MSE thing will you do/have you done today?

Its Sunday, a day of rest, relaxation, long lie ins with tea and toast in bed (Who am I kidding - early start, kids to activities, off to do a course, lucky if I have time to have a :coffee: !)

Anyway, let us know what small step you are making today on your DFW journey. Or if a small step seems a lot, just put one toe slightly in front of the others (apologies to whoever I pinched this from on this board!).

I will be checking my bank accounts on line to see just how bad things are at the end of the month, updating my snowballs (my fave hobby at the moment) and trying to get through the day on storecupboard and freezer stuff.

Have a good day x

    Today I am...

    Working for 10 hours
But three of those hours are overtime :)

Walking to work rather than getting a bus...its takes an hour :( but its fabulous exercise. :)

Have already listed an item on Ebay.

Paid a chunk off catalouge with 0% interest card so I can pay it back as and when without worrying about the interest.

And that's about it today...so far anyway.

    Have a good one people x x x
  • I'm going nowhere to spend anything. It is dark, rainy, blowing a gale and freezing.

    And that's in southern Spain!

  • I am feeding 6 adults and 4 children the DFW/OS way with jacket spuds, baked beans, salad and sausages from the freezer that were reduced when I bought them! I will also be spending £20 of pigsback vouchers in town today. I have been saving them all January as an end of month treat. I need a new top for work so it is a practical treat as well as a free one:rotfl:
    Have a good day everyone

No! I didn't think that was physically possible?

I always though Spain had to have it's rainwater piped in....? ;)

  • Today I will be making a menu plan being as frugal as possible, using up what we can.

I will do QuidCo & Pigsback as usual. Again (as usual) am doing some washing which was half a sachet of Ecover sample powder & equal amount of soda crystals and this washing will be out on the line shortly as the wind has got up here.

We had porridge this morning to use up some oats - yumm....love it with brown sugar on.

If I do anything else during the course of the day I will update post. :A

  • I'm off to 2nd job for 5 hours and then 3rd job for 4. Should be home around 10pm just in time to fall into my bed to be up for 7.30am tomorrow.

Not been sleeping very well lately, have tried lavendar, relaxation cd, wearing those eye masks to block out the light but my sleep is still very very interrupted, leaving me tired. Anyone have any good suggestions?
Ever wonder about those people who spend £2 apiece on those little bottles of Evian water? Try spelling Evian backward.
  • C_G:

Warm milk before bed? Supposed to be good as it contains the amino acid l-tryptophan which induces sleep. An oldie but goodie.

And lettuce too is a soporific food, that's if you fancy nibbling on it before bed!

Edit: Also found this link, maybe it will help:

Also, I used to use herbal sleeping tablets for a while (health food shop) and those "Celestine" tea bags before bed (available in Sainsburys) and they helped me nod off.
