Where does the excess money go?????

Thanks all!
I've resurrected my spreadsheet and will have to discipline myself enough to do the keep-spending-cash-in-purse trick.
Thinking about it, I think I spend a lot on lunches in the canteen (which aren't very nice most time anyway!) and snacks at break times.
Oh and yes, I do tend to 'treat' myself to takeaways when I get home late - the free-home-delivery ones are the most tempting!
For some reason in AUgust I lost momentum with MSE-ing. I forgot this site and neglected my spreadsheet.
Am determined not to let that happen again!
Thanks again for you comments.0 -
Thanks TImbstoke - I've just got an app on my ipod that does this. It's a great idea. Thanks.0

And in true MSE manner did you use your Bite card and get 20% off the cost of your cuppa?0 -
oh please what is the app called and where do I find it?
Tthats exactly what I need. I don't buy coffees or magazines but there's still a significant hole in the budget where the spare money falls through."A savoury muffin?? As if life wasn't disappointing enough!" Miranda0 -

Hi FP
It's called Expense Book and does all kinds of things.
you just have to remember to record every spend and I kept forgetting last month.
Before starting it think about all the different spending categories you use.
Enjoy!0 -
Oh my.....I have been brutally honest with my diary and it's scary reading~! I don't have valid reasons for all my spending (nobody needs that many packets of mints...surely????) But it's there in all it's bare glory. Now, how to crack down on it. Think the debit card needs to stay tucked away at home for a while. EEEEKKKKKDon't be 'Good' - Be 'Amazing'0

I know it's scary, Angel, isn't it.
Well done for facing the fear!
My spending goes on stocking up on pet stuff and toiletries. Though recently I've been stashing away craft stuff too - even though I don;t need anymore craft things AT ALL.
Enjoy your hibernation, Angel's card!:money:0
