I did ask them to send me details of their complaints procedure, but the reply doesn't mention it at all!

I can't be the only person who claims to have poor service from a solicitor. Is there somewhere you can find that type of information?
A sort of Tripadvisor for Solicitors :)
Ask them again re complaints procedure.

The Law Society is the next port of call, but I got nowhere when I raised a legitimate complaint. Unfortunately it is not independent, as it is solicitors/barristers looking at complaints against their peers.

Push hard for a significant reduction in the bill, asking for an itemised invoice if necessary. I got one without asking.

Looks like you might be right!
They took my complaint forward and said I would get a decision "within 21 days". This has come and gone, so I emailed them and didn't get a response, so I phoned them. Apparently they have so much post to sort out, there is a back log!

I bet if a complaint was a day late it would be rejected.

I guess there's not much more I can do until something arrives.
    Or is there ?
