Need help to raise £6000!!

Hello. I currently have a car loan for £3500 and I own my mum and dad £2500. Due to a split with my longterm girlfriend I now have a mortgage on my own aswell as the above debt, so money is very tight. If I could find any ways of reducing or even clearing this debt as quick as possible, my life would be alot less stressful.

Can you give any ideas on how to make some extra money on top of my current salary? If I could find a way of making say £10 to £20 a day that would be amazing. I'm sure some of you have been in similar and worse situations than mine so I'm interested to find out how you got on and what advice you have.

I suggest you read through this board, and the debt-free-wannabe board.

the obvious ones are, sell what ever you dont use or want, and to be honest this is the right time to do it, just before chrimb.

cut back on ALL spending... as saving is as good as earning...


I know this is an extreme long shot as jobs are getting as rare as chickens teeth, but what about seeing if there are any casual jobs going in pubs resturants etc for the run up to christmas and new year...

Hey Star, I really feel for you, i'm about to take on a mortgage on my own after a split and I need to keep a close eye on my finances too.
As suggested above, start by selling stuff you don't need or want. I've also gone through my kitchen cupboards, fridge and freezer and planned how to use up the food i already have first.
I've now started shopping in Asda & Aldi instead of Tesco and I wouldn't go back.
One other thing that springs to mind, if you've got your own property, is there any chance of renting a room to someone for some extra cash? I'm thinking of doing that when my ex moves out but I don't know where to start.
