The Money Group and their shocking treatment of people

I got an unsolicited call from an 0845 number recently which has been incessantly calling at all times of the day. No-one on the end of the line would leave a message or say anything, and I found it all a little baffling so I thought I'd google the number.

The first few hits revealed it was "The Money Group" cold calling me to offer debt consolidation, even though I don't have any need for that, certainly don't owe them anything and have never even been a customer of theirs.

I came across this shocking thread on one site
http://whocallsme.com/Phone-Number.aspx/08450304474

It starts off with people asking if anyone knows who the caller is, a few people's complaints of how they've been abused, and then you get to page three and look at what two members of staff have had to say.

One high ranking member of staff actually says
If you are dumb enough to put your work number on a internet site then its your own fault when you recieve a call!
So he's calling people dumb for using their work number contact signing up for a legitimate loan from another lender. As if you'd know your details would then be sold on to this shady cold-calling outfit.

Then it gets worse. Another employee actually calls people "retards" and.. well read it. Incredibly offensive.

Does anyone have any dealings with this outfit? Horrendous behaviour by them, and after reading that thread I really thought this should be spread.

Both contributions from Money Group employees would lead one to believe that educational standards in West Cornwall are not the highest.

Alternatively, there is the 'pay peanuts, get monkeys' theory.
  • Just had to say, i used to work for TMG and not sure what has happened there, we would have got fired for being rude on the phone! Wow how times change, i worked there about 4 years ago, and the education standard down here in cornwall is fine obviously just a few idiots working for them now!

The comments may have been put there by other disgruntled recipients of cold calls in order to make TMG look even worse?

  • Is CCCS really staffed by volunteers? Wow in that case they are the most professional amazingly competent set of volunteers I've EVER come across. CCCS have been amazing for us, and if it weren't for them, then I can honestly say that we would be bankrupt by now and have lost our home.

I feel offended on their behalf that you're inferring that you are better than they are simply because it's a charity. At least I know that all my money goes on my debt, not in someone else's pockets...and the lenders know that too, which is probably why my DMP has been so plain sailing.

I don't mean to offend you, but I just had to stand up for CCCS, they know what they are talking about, and they have always been brilliant for us.

  • I don't think CCCS are volunteers. It is a charity, yes, but people are still paid to work at charities.
