Notice of Correction

Hi,
I want to out one on my credit files for an old m&s loan that I ended up having an arrangement on (was paid in full 2010). Is there any templates for these notices? Or advise on how to write them?

Thanks
Anna

No templates I know of. I'd suggest concise and to the point, and without emotion. What sort of thing do you want to say? Its rare that a notice of correction will make much difference (although obviously that depends on the situation).

Edit - there are some examples of the experian website https://www.creditreporthelp.experian.co.uk/static/ycrhc/d416ce6d33874dd9bb1905a131a19141.html although I think those particular examples are pretty awful and very unlikely to make a difference to a person's report. Becoming unemployed isn't an excuse to creditors for unsecured credit - they would simply believe that the person should have had an adequate back up plan or insurance in place.

It was originally a joint debt with my ex-husband. He took his name off the loan (I still have no idea how he did this), subsequently I was left with payments of about £300 a mth that I was unable to pay, I made an arrangement to pay £100 a month instead and never missed a payment, nor was late. My credit file shows as Red with 6mths late on each payment. I honestly was not made aware that my credit file would be affected.

It's not a major problem, however, in the next 2 yrs I am going to need to remortgage to buy ex out of the house and I'm worried this will cause a problem.
