  • There is a splendid song by John Kirkpatrick (from his Carols & Crumpets album) called 'The Great Christmas Pud' which is all about making Christmas pudding on Stir Up Sunday. I had planned to learn it to sing it at our folk club (which is Sundays) but, er, thought I had an extra week. I do know most of the words...
Make £2023 in 2023: (all decluttering), current total £2860 me, £330 for friends & family, £468 charity donations.
  • Stir up sunday is next week in our house - simply cos I need to get a bottle of value rum & some suet in this week's shop ; ) Can't afford to buy all the Xmas bits at once so add a bit to each week's shop to eek out the budget. Also it was my birthday this wee so I like to space stuff out or DS gets confused and overloaded.

Gonna wear a nice apron and make it an "event" for DS. Gotta sew the apron outta 99p fabric as a test run for making the same pattern for chrimbo pressies the following week. http://sewing.about.com/od/aprons/ss/retroruffleapron.htm

Beautifully put - if you're the Rev Charles Overton of Thomas Moore's 1833 poem, you're very lucid for your age!!!

    Not me.
I do believe in the resurrection, but not in reincarnation!
However, I did recently qualify (by age) for free prescriptions!

I made our puddings on Sunday and steamed them in the slow cooker. Unfortunately I let it boil dry and one of the plastic basins stuck to the side and melted! I scraped most of it into a new bowl though.
