small tear on leather sofa seam

Hi folks,
I have noticed a small tear/rip along the seam between the cushions of my leather sofa. I was wondering if this is A) easy to fix yourself or
not too expensive to get someone in to do it. It is only approx 1 inch so far but am a bit wary of it getting bigger.
TIA

Fixing it will depend on how easy it is to get to the back of it.
I know the seat seams on ours (for example) are just about impossible to get to; shaped foam interiors, with attached supporting interfaces. So you can't reach the back of a problem to glue on a patch.0 -
Hi Rik,
That was my fear that the cushions are not removable and it would be quite difficult to sew, however I was thinking it may be possible with some kind of curved needle, like they use in the hospitals.
Thanks for the reply.:j Norn Iron Club Member No. 343 :j0 -
That can work, if you have enough sound leather to work with. If it were just some pulled stitches, then no problem. But leather is naturally uneven. Sometimes a break happens because the leather is thin or weak just there, which can make re-sewing it difficult.Hi Rik,
