Virgin Mobile - Wanted (code & Advice)

I have £30 to use off a phone with virgin mobile (they have 3 very basic models that are £19.99)

I'm stuck between getting one and paying nothing... but having a VERY BASIC phone.

Or going for a nicer model...and getting money off.

What would everyone else do?

Do virgin mobile do discount codes? or just offers...

i've put this in here, if anyone knows where i might be able to find a code i'd be most grateful

K :D

  • I got a new phone from Virgin at the end of 2006, with the following:

    - PAYG Handset SE K510i
    - £79.99 + £2.99 P&P
    - £10 Credit on Top Up card
    - £35 Credit in 7 installments of £5 per month

So £82.98 - £45 = £37.98, and that was excluding the 10% back from quidco. so less than £30 for handset.

You get £10 off your phone (listed prices on website) if you register an existing Virgin Sim Card, and go through Red deals section. The sim you first use in the phone will be the one which you must use to get your credit.

Note: Credit gets added at the end of the month once you make at least one chargeable call. Have not got my first (January) lot yet. So I will see how it goes and post when I do.

I upgraded to the Nokia 5200 last week for £90 + recieved £30 credit so really £60, if you have £30 towards an upgrade that would make it £30. Think the £30 credit is on all phones over £45
  • Just rang Virgin and the credit gets added on the very last day of every month upto the amount that is due.

For this month 31st, then February 28th 2007 etc. etc. upto £35

BTW kegan5 what offer did you go for in the end? Phone, old sim -£10 and quidco etc. ;)

ThePhoneSpot have some clearance lines with several months free line rental (you have to claim the linew rental at set monthly intervals)

They have all networks except Vodafone

...you can claim £50 cashback through QuidCo with these too
