OMG why do I have such expensive taste?

Hi everyone

Im new to the wedding forum, got engaged to my partner Barry in Aug and we have booked our wedding for Nov 2013.

Since we are having a winter wedding I have been looking for a dress with lace sleeves and I have found this Pronovias dress:

But it is retailing at £3200 with the jacket :mad:

Anyone seen anything similiar?

Have you tried the wedding dress sites that are like eBay - preloved, sellmyweddingdress, sellmywedding, gumtree etc

Good luck, I'm getting married august 2013 and love planning it

I know what you mean OP, I've tried on a few really expensive dresses that are way over budget! Why do I do it? :rotfl:

Firstly, have you tried it on? Sometimes it may look amazing in the pic but not so good on you - that's happened to me once or twice!!

I dont think the Kate dress is similiar and I love the off the shoulder detail on this one - thought about maybe seeing if someone could make one for me on a much cheaper scale? xx

You could certainly explore that option, you've got 2 years to get sorted. It would be way cheaper than £3,200!

On Elegant Steps there are some really nice lacey bolero things.It's definitely worth a look if you don't get the jacket with your dress! It won't let me put a link here because I'm new but just search Elegant Steps and it's in the bolero section! Love them!

Have you thought about buying a dress similar from a cheaper designer, and just buying the 'jacket' from Pronovia? The dress is fairly simple in design so i doubt it would be hard to find something similar.

Or maybe try a dress maker? get it made from scratch? x
