hi i have just received a letter from the inland revenue saying they owe me 750 pound tax rebate it was a surprise as i never asked but no cheque in with the letter how long des it normally take to be sent out will come in very handy for xmas thanx

If you read the info with the P800 (Para 16 of the P800 Notes) ....... it will tell you the cheque will be with you within 14 days. It's normally less than that.

hi mike thanx for the reply i have not been given a p800 this tax rebate was because i went bankrupt last year it says as you were made bankrupt ? june2010 tax should not have been deducted from the date of bankrupcy order to the ?th april 2011 to do so would give revenue and customs preference over your other creditors a payment of 750 will therefore be made to you as we do not hold your authority to pay the official reciever i am now discharged from bankruptcy

Ah ..... as there are thousands of P800s being issued for 10-11 at the moment ..... I assumed!

Should make no difference. The cheque is issued seperately partially for security and partially because it suits them to have the specialist cheque printer held outside the main areas where they do the bulk printing. It should be on its way. Mine normally arrive a day or so before the documents.

ok thank you the letter is 6 days old so will just wait and see what happens thanx again for all ur advice
