Do you save money shopping on-line

Good evening all,
I'm seriously thinking about doing my grocery shopping on-line (through QUidco, of course). Am interested to know whether anyone thinks they actually spend less money shopping on-line i.e not being tempted by items in store, keeping a check on the total as you shop etc.
What are your thoughts on this?
Does anyone use Asda, if so, what sort of service do they offer?

I find the combo of Lidl/local market/and a few bits from Somerfield(horrible place though) will mean £50-60 for a fortnight rather than £80 at tesco.com. This is for 2 people. I am vegetarian and my hubby eats very little meat and the market veg is sooo much better value.
It's damn hard work (neither of us drives so reliant on the bus and our rucksacks) but worth it I think. I haven't tried asda though

I always shop at Asda usually after work when I'm really hungry. Smell the cooked chicken, fancy one, get one, see the freshly made pizza, fancy one, get one or two. Get the picture! Ooooh Doughnuts, fresh fish etc etc. Just wondered whether I would stick to a list/budget better if I shopped on-line.0

Both me and boyfriend get our "big shop" online which usually lasts us a month, this is anything that can be frozen, tinned, jars extra.
Then we go to local shops for fresh stuff as when we need it.
As my boyfriend has just pointed out, it can be useful for those who just pick things up when they shop cos they look good. These extras can soon add up, and shopping online, you tend to browse less and just get what you need.
My boyfriend lives in oswestry so there isnt a Tesco or asda, just sommerfield and sainsburys really and it can prove to be expensive shopping there.
Much cheaper for us to shop online, get it delivered for little cost. The neares Tesco and Asda is Wrexham which is about 15 miles away, so works out cheaper than paying the cost of fuel there and back.March 2006 £15,200+ in debt April £843.64 in debt - Debt Free date Sept 2009

Never ever go shopping hungry!
Right as for online shopping, if you're an impulsive shopper it helps. I spend less and buy less when shopping online. I can check what I have in, there is no lovely smells to tempt me and I can work from a list easier.
I would suggest give it a try for a month and see how it goes. Check out the discounts/vouchers board on here before you shop.
Lidl can be cheaper for some things, depends what you buy, but the petrol it costs me to get to the nearest isn't worth the savings most of the time. Petrol to nearest ASDA is more than the delivery charge, Tescos is about even. I always consider things like this when working out 'true savings', then there is the time involved! God I hate shopping (had to go today as forgot to order in time) Ok you don't et the reduced items online, but these are few and far between in most stores now.One day I might be more organised...........

I think I'll probably give it a go. Get all the 'big monthly stuff' on line and maybe just top-up weekly as suggested. I am an impulsive shopper and gullible too. WIll buy absolutely anything. Really have started to make a big effort now. Thanks for all your advice0

At the moment I'm on the store cupboard diet. I am determined to use up all the 'essential' food I bought for the Christmas period. I usually do meal plan, but meals have been quite higgledy piggledy this week as I'm trying to empty the cupboard/freezer. Been living on buffet food and gateaux. Really healthy! Just bought essentials like bread, milk and fruit and veg.....0

Great start, I don't meal plan to the day, I set out a weeks worth of meals and we choose from that, too impulsive to stick to a Monday to Sunday list
