  • Hi peeps

Drum roll................ I got my first foster furbabies yesterday :j:j:j

I picked them up yesterday dinner time. Two little black and white babies, one boy and one girl. Poor little things are filled with fleas, scared to death and hardly eating :(:( They have now been fed and treated for fleas and I keep going in for lots of squeezy cuddles :D They are having cuddles if they like it or not :p (mostly not) :rotfl::rotfl:

Regarding adopting a cat, the charity I work for charges a suggested donation of £25 per cat. Each cat is neutered, chipped, flea treated and wormed and any medical costs paid etc.

The have a charity shop and what does not sell in there goes to a jumble sale which they do every month and then what does not sell there goes to the rag man who pays them depending on the weight.

Not one person in the charity takes a wage.

I think £25 is good compared to the RSPCA and any shortfall in money just means they all try harder to raise funds.

I think some of these rescue places get a little up themselves and it makes me :mad: to. Does it matter if your at work full time as long as the cat is fed, loved, warm and cared for. I think my moggies would love me to work full time so they can snooze all day without being woken by the hoover :rotfl:

Made my first bit of butter today and turned out just like butter :rotfl::rotfl:

Been to a jumble and got some leather gloves and some wellies at 40p each, twas an expensive jumble they only usually charge 20p :rotfl:

For some reason I have no thanks buttons appearing so when it is sorted I will pop back

    PIC xx

Thanks guys.. Question. Do I keep my lower than average paid job that I love or look for a higher paying job to help pay off my debts?

    mmmmm difficult one!

I'd say look and if there's something you like the look of then apply and see what happens - even if you end up going for the interview / are offered the job, you don't have to take it if you don't think you'll like it.

Also...... (pains me to say this) there is nothing worse than hating your job and being so depressed each morning at the thought of going in - or spending Sunday night crying at the thought of facing another week there (I know:() - so if you love your job, are there any places you could cut instead?

thats a hard one! does your job have prospects for increased income in time to come? is it likely you could go back to it after paying debts? Can you get a part time job to pay off debts? While I was in debt I kept going for promotions to bring in more money to meet the costs of expenses and pay off debt. Now I have been debt free for over a year I have taken a job with less responsibility as I found the personal cost to be too much. Really only you can weigh it up

well said! I have been so unhappy in my job for ages now - crying a lot of the time, was signed off with depression a couple of months ago that I would have taken a bar job if the one I start on 23rd hadn't come up

There is nowhere for me to progress, and I don't feel I can ask for a raise, I don't think my role deserves one!! I love my colleagues, my bosses, it's 5 mins from my home. Really if I want to progress at all I need to move on one day.

There are 2 jobs that have caught my eye. I have nothing to lose by applying for them I guess ...

Hows this for frugal karma? Queuing up to buy a magazine today (I know but I've been so good) and my 5 year old tells me he has just pooed himself so we had to run out the shop without buying it! He then did it again so we just gave up and went home (he's fine now!)
Maybe someone was telling me not to spend, shame it wasn't in a less messy way, poor boy :rotfl:

No harm in putting your CV out there and having a look, a wise friend of mine always used to say "you go to work to earn money not to enjoy yourself" - and although I agreed with him, when I was going to work in one particular job I stuck it out for 2 years and ended up just walking out as i couldn't cope with the people, the environment, the politics, so that adage really didn't work for me - as your in work a huge proportion of the day - I now would not put my happiness above the bigger wage - although i'm never going to reach any sort of giddy heights on the old career ladder!!!!

I would say, look carefully at your finances, and decide if it is a decision of the heart or the head that is called for - good luck xxxx
