    Thanks for your replies,
I will be using P20 sun screen and i know that it's expensive normally, bought it at the end of last summer and it was reduced to £5 a bottle instead of £20.

Hi Edinburghlass et al , heading off to Lanzawhatsit in a couple of days Got my slippy stuff from Asda I think that they have a positive policy on this to deliberately sell it cheap as a health prevention issue It should be the same as in OZ where you can buy a bucket load of the stuff for Tuppence ha'penny

as a result of Asda initiative I have noticed that a number of supermarkets have reduced their prices

Edin lass we were well gubbed yesterday still got a redface and not from overexposure to the nice sun in Edin yesterday

    Viva espagnia !

Not advising it but, if you do get burt buy some natural live yoghurt and spread it all over your burnt bits and leave it to dry (it cakes on) then wash off with cool water. It takes the heat out and reduces the swelling.

I am speaking from experience. A few years ago I was so busy being ill on a boat trip didn't realise I was getting badly burnt :o yoghurt was the only thing that took the pain away and it worked really quickly.
When life hands you a lemon, make sure you ask for tequilla and salt ;)

Galtizz, i'm with you, i swear by natural yoghurt if i burn, it doesn't take the redness away but it takes away the burning sensation and it works a treat !

the best tip i was ever given for sunburn was to soak a cloth in a solution bicarbonate soda disolved in water, lay on the affected area and will reduce the imflammation and burning very quick, solution can be kept in fridge for extra coolness

I'm pretty sure our old friend vinegar can be used, I saw something on the frugal living vinegar tips page. Just make sure you don't go to the hotel buffet afterwards or people will be rubbing their chips on you... :rotfl:

You can also use our other old friend, Aqueous Cream.

Hope I'm not too late: I was in Greece for 3 months many moons ago & I used no sun protection - just started off very slowly - but always used olive oil as an after sun. Worked well, but never go out in the sun with olive oil on as you will find out why it is used for frying.
    Nice to save.
