Help with an CPW debt

Right need some help with an old debt from the CPW, basically I cant remember all the details and probably dont have all the paperwork to prove the debt was written off by them ect so to cut a long story short I will try to explain. I had the contract with them from early 2005, I kept the contract whilst I went through bankruptcy in 2007 and in 2008 couldnt keep up payments I was out of work.
Late in 2008 a debt company was chasing me for the debt, cant remember the name but it was C and S or something like that. I made some payments to them about £200 which cleared about half the debt. I phoned them up and argued that CPW were charging me about £50 per month to provide me with a service i.e line rental and a calls + texts bundle but in fact were delivering only basic line rental as I was barred from making calls ect. They agreed that this came under failing to provide a service that I was now paying for and would get CPW to write off the rest of the debt as what I had payed covered more than what a basic line rental charge would have been.
A couple of weeks later (early 2009) a letter came from CPW saying as a gesture of good will they had decided to write the remaining debt off and no further action would be taken on the account. So basically I thought that was the end of it. Since then I have moved house a couple of times and you know what its like you get rid of everything you dont need any more so I am sure this letter and the payment slips to that company have gone.
About a month ago a letter came from Bryan Carter saying I owe £398.31 on this account which shocked me abit so I basically sent a prove it letter thinking they would probably go away. This has failed and although they have failed to send me anything like a contract agreement or anything like that they have sent basically a 3 page excel document with all the payments made ect on the account. Though this doesnt seem to be 100% accurate as it doesnt show all the payments I made and the name they were made to also shows Moorcroft!
Anybody got an advice on what is the best way to sort this out. I am not paying £398 that is for sure and dont have the spare cash to settle this considering I thought it was done and dusted a couple of years ago now

Anyone got any ideas? Otherwise think I am left with the option of sending a letter basically saying what they have sent just shows numbers with my name on and doesnt actually mean it has anything to do with me or prove it does. They may back off then but doubt it0
