What would you say is the best, from Asda, Tesco etc.? Or are they all pretty similar?

Purely a personal point of view but I prefer Tesco simply because I can collect cluccard points and I also can get hold of the money off vouchers usually totally £25 on the net , which helps. From a point of view of style , quality etc , all the same if you ask me . Kids clothes are better quality from Tesco , especially the washing and sizes . HTH0

I prefer George at Asda, much better choice in larger adult sizes and usually cheaper. Tescos older kids stuff (8-13 girl) has been ghastly for the last couple of years, unless you like nasty colours or writing all over tops etc. My local Tesco has recently phased out their larger size range much to my fury. Those vouchers are not much use if theres nothing to buy!0

My experience of tesco kids clothes is that the quality isn't that good and for the price of a t'shirt £5 at tesco for £1 more you can get one at next, which lasts longer and if you want to sell on e bay after its been worn you will get half its value back for the right style.0

Tesco for me.0

I like sainsburys best. The quality is better than Tesco or Asda. The clothes are not quite as "on trend" (not so many catwalk copies) but they will probably last longer.0

I don't think there's much in it. As tooting_jane says, Sainsbury is a little less 'on trend' than the others but I don't think the quality varies much. I think the big strength is 'disposable' fashion for the younger end of the market. Unfortunately that's not me, although I wish they'd been around when it was!
They're fine for the cheap and cheerful end of things where quality isn't such an issue - T shirts, pyjamas, etc - you get your money's worth before they go into the duster bag. The sizing at all the stores is very erratic. I wouldn't buy anything where the 'cut' is important (although having said that one of my most admired tailored work skirts was £14 in Asda) but I think that's something where you get what you pay for (but pay for it in the sales!).
Great for children's clothes where they're outgrown before they wear out though.
On a serious note, talking to friends, I know we are all a bit uncomfortable about the jaw-droppingly cheap items - like £4 jeans or somesuch - in these supermarkets, and the competition to hit the headlines with the most ludicrously cheap prices. It doesn't take a genius to know that someone is losing out somewhere and you can stake your life it isn't Tesco, Asda, etc. I mean that for jeans, say, £6 would still be an incredible bargain and the extra 50% might mean that some poor soul would get nearer to a living wage.

My favourite shop is Sainsbury's. Especially the one off Jct 4 on the M3. Brilliant and HUGE range of clothes. Each time I go to a client in that area I have to pop in and have a look. 9 times out of 10 I leave with arms full!! :j:dance: "Never save something for a special occasion. Asda for me, much better size range. DS has had clothes from there since he was born, he is now 5 and to me the quality is still as good now as it was then. Their clothes wash well and keep their shape.Bringing up 2 handsome boys and 1 gorgeous girl the MSE way!Joseph born 19th December 2001Matthew born 8th August 2007Tara born 23rd January 20110
