Have moved, in desperate need of cheap but classy venue in lincoln area

Calling anyone who may be able to help. Due to work circumstances my partner and i have moved and are now miles from our wedding booked for may. We have been able to cancel this at little cost to ourselves which so far has been the only blessing.
We are trying to find somewhere which will give us either a classy or old fashioned venue. Not a modern hotel conference look. But not spending more than £3k on the reception and idealy evening do for 60 guests day time going up to 100 in the evening.
If anyone knows of any great venues, please please please let me know.
Thanks for all the help

I don't know if its great, but my friend is getting married next Sept at Tattershall castle in Lincoln.
Capacity: 90
Cost: £750
Apparently an additional room can be hired. You could always look it up, it may have links to other places.
Good luckMummy to two girls: October 2013 and February 20160 -

Do you want Lincoln or Lincolnshire? Just that Tattershall is 20 miles away from Lincoln.
Do you want somewhere for the ceremony as well as the reception?
Have a look here for the list of licenced venues:
http://www.lincolnshire.gov.uk/residents/births-marriages-deaths-and-civil-partnerships/getting-married-/-forming-a-civil-partnership/approved-venues-and-venue-licensing/licensed-venues-in-lincolnshire/lincoln/
From these my choice would be Donnington Hall (used to go there as a child)... but no idea how much that'd cost.
P.S. I'm a Lincolnshire bride - but I'm in the North East up in Louth

Oh thats a shame re ceremony & drink. I'd assumed it was everything. Plus I also didn't know it was 20 miles away from Lincoln. My friend only just told me her venue end of last week.
Like mentioned above re licenced places for Lincoln, I did exactly the same but for Nottinghamshire and I am in Newark. I found our venue that way, I wouldn't recommend mine based on your numbers as mine was a small wedding.
Heres Nottinghamshire link http://www.nottinghamshire.gov.uk/home/youandyourcommunity/registrars/registrars-marriages/marriagevenues.htmMummy to two girls: October 2013 and February 20160 -
Tattershall is lovely! I drive past it on my way to a friend in Grantham - that's how I knew it was so far away from Lincoln.

I think if I was to marry in Lincoln I would REALLY want to be up near the Cathedral so I could get some photos of it in the backdrop. (Or at least take a trip up there with the photographer for some shots in between ceremony and reception). There is the White Hart up in that part but I don't know what it's like as I've never been.0 -
If Newark Castle did weddings I would of got married under the dome, or whatever you might refer to it as. To have photos with the castle ruins as your backdrop would of been amazing. I did a tour recently of the undercroft and the guide said they were going to licence that for ceremonies, I could picture that being very pretty, decorated with fairy lights, but why they don't licence the garden of Newark Castle I don't know.
As it turned out though on my wedding in August, it was the 1 day where it rained like mad, so actually getting married in Newark Castle grounds would of been a disaster.Mummy to two girls: October 2013 and February 20160 -

Charlotte House Hotel is very pretty from what I remember & convenient for the castle, might be dear though....They weren't available for our chosen date (also in May 2012) so we ruled it out quite quickly, but they may have had cancellations since then as it was Mar 11 when we went to lincoln wedding fair. If they have had cancellations they may be able to offer deals if so? Worth a look anyway.....
There's also another building around there...I'll come back & update when/if I work out what it's called!0
