On my credit report i have 6 accounts that are flagged as default, if i was to say pay off the one i owe least therefore settling the debt with that company would my credit score improve?

A default stays on your credit file for a total of 6 years from the date it is applied. However, a settled default is obviously better than an unsettled one. In my opinion though, people get too hung up on credit scores, as the only credit you are likely to get offered with 6 defaults are extortionately high interest credit and some of these companies may also reject you.If you've nothing decent to say, perhaps you shouldn't say anything.
