Old style or microwave meals?

I can taste a ready meal just by the amount of salt in it.“Pleasure of love lasts but a moment, pain of love lasts a lifetime.”0

Taste is sooo different, I had the most awful taste experience earlier, some just add water noodle thing that's been sat there so long it would be out of date next week, well the dogs liked it, because I know I didn't. Used to eat them all the time
Gave up and had some HM bread instead.
One day I might be more organised...........

Slinkies target 2018 - another 70lb off (half way to what the NHS says) so far 25lb0 -
I might pass a pudding off as homemade, and I've been known to pretend I made shop-bought hummus (tip - scoop it into a pretty dish and drizzle with olive oil!) but I think most people can spot a microwave dinner at 50 paces, so I've never tried. Whenever I see those awful Iceland ads I think how if I went to someone's home for dinner and they served up one of those ready-made roasts, I'd just think they didn't care enough to make something!2015 comp wins - £370.25
Recent wins: gym class, baby stuff
Thanks to everyone who posts freebies and comps! :j0 -
My portions are far too big to be able to pass a micro-meal off as my own. I'd need 3 of 'em!!
Anyway, despite not being the worlds best cook I'd still like to think that my own concoctions are better than micro versions.0 -
It's about as silly as trying to pass off one of those factory made cakes as a home made one. Only someone who had never had the real thing would even begin to be fooled.True wealth lies in contentment - not cash. Dollydaydream 20060

I don't buy ready meals (main courses) but I agree with Nigella when she says there is no shame in buying a quality dessert for a special occasion as the French do. Haven't yet tried to pass them off as my own but if I thought I could get away with it...0
