Im very disappointed with amazon this year.....seems lots of stuff they just wan t to get rid off and mark up the prices to what it originally costs and not what they were selling it for to look like they are giving big discounts.

Just like the tv, the newer versions are already out.

USA deals look better :( Even though they have random things, there are MANY genuine things like PS3 controllers, xbox's, laptops, and IPOD touch 4g :( and nano later on :(

No such luck here for them to every give a deal on it :(

I have to agree. I've been following it with interest, but much of the stuff I can get cheaper elsewhere. I'm not going to buy for the sake of it, although great news for those who got what they wanted.

It's very true. Looked into the price of the books I want tomorrow and guess what, they put them up by over a tenner on the 22nd November! I smell a rat. The lowest price they've been is £31.90, so if they're not a fair bit below that I won't be buying :)

I followed it last year....and last year was the 1st year so everything sold out in seconds.

This year, if you look at the 'claimed' percentage, nothing really has completely sold out or been claimed 100%.

Yes exactly, i think what happens people see they are saving around 50% but reality is they are only saving around 20% as if they shop around, combined discount codes etc they get a better saving IMO.

But yeah if the deal is something they have seen before and liked, then i suppose they get their money's worth or its a new gadget or something.

Hopefully like last year, the best is till last but like i said USA already have ipod deals, laptops and xbox's on offer throughout the week....so in that respect UK black friday is relatively new but its still a disappointment....and i think many have realised that as no one is buying like crazy like last year Lightening deals.

Doubt it, they will show you that your saving a high percentage from the original price with no mention of recent cost.

I guess its true of all companies.....when you see a product save £50 and then the small print that the product was sold at the higher cost between these dates and was previously on sale at a lower price at this date....so compared to the lowerst price you save a few pounds more and not the 'save £50' they advertised your saving.

I hate the way companies advertise products like this or when they say under £100 and its £99.99 - makes me mad

....or they might have more stock to sell of each item than last year.....just a thought!

Could have :) but if you see that when they advertise one product and its usually the stock count for that day and not the overall one....

    so day 1 - 50 books

but overall they have 100 books to sell on 2 seperate days so i was thinking its the claimed figure just for that days allocated stock....i remember last year they leaked a list of how many if each product they had - i wish there was a repeat this year but no such luck unless someone posted here....i havent read the thread.
  • Also last year people were clicking on everything if they wanted it or not just to see if they could get it in their baskets. Granted this year hasn't been swamped with electrical goodies but there have been bit and pieces that have been very good value just not as showstoppingly exciting as a £50 xbox. We'll see what tomorrow brings.....

There was no waitlist last year either so when someone decided they didn't want that item it was lost to anyone else.
There was also no 15min time limit to pay for goods in your basket.
  • I might be wrong, but the kenwood chef classic (£159.99) looks more powerful than the KitchenAid K45SS Classic Stand Mixer (£249.99 at the moment).

Unless Amazon will put up the KitchenAid for less than £159 I am not sure I'll want to buy it.

    What do you all think?
