  • Well, if it's money saving you want :-

Ditch the £40 per month on clothes. surely you must all be well clothed by now?

Ask your OH to stop spending £80 per month on "stuff"

Diet without weightwatchers for £20 per month saving

Son't spend £16 per month on misc and £8 on lottery

That would give you £184 per month in a 4 week month.

However, that depends on how badly you want to save really, if you'd rather have these extras, then the savings will have to go on hold :)

Youngmum I don't know anything about debt management, but I do know that you can lose weight without shelling out for a club. You will have all the books I'm sure and if you join the Weight Loss thread on the "I wanna" board, you'll get all the help and support you would get in a class.

If I were you I would approach the gym, tell them you're in a bit of a bind financially and see if they can give you a final settlement figure. Walking at a fast pace is all the exercise you need to keep you slim and your heart healthy and all you need for that is a decent pair of trainers.

Hope this helps a bit. Good luck!

If the only real benefit of your £10pm bank charge is 'free' breakdown cover, I'd cancel it. You could get a far better deal buying this directly from aa, rac, etc. You could also check to see if your insurance provider offers this as a tag on to your insurance policy. You might end up with better coverage at a cheaper cost.

Specsavers £15 a month - is this for contacts? I used to pay £19 a month for mine and this week got a 12 month supply from asda online for £75. Some saving!

The car savings of £10 a week are for just that. Although I do realise it could be with being a little bit more.

Oh, I'd not read your post properly, and I'd got it into my head that the £10 car entry was £10 per month, not per week. Per week it adds up to £520 per year, which doesn't seem too bad.

Trying to work to such an exact budget must be a nightmare! Do you have a spreadsheet or something so you can work out if you have over/underspent on anything?

No, no spreadsheet or anything but I'm thinking that's perhaps the next step. Thanks :)
