Relax and let matters take due course. If its not a necessary call, ringing people actually slows them down.

Thanks everybody. The saga continues. The surveyor actually sent the document to me in the end and I forwarded it on to YBS. All it said was "the retention can be lifted on completion of the works". The works were estimated at 1 grand and the retention suggested before the damp and timber report was 5 grand.

I spoke to YBS again who said they would have to get back to the surveyor/valuer again as he hasn't been clear about the retention! I said it's a bit of a joke if he keeps it at 5 grand when the work estimate is much less. I can take the hit of a 1k retention but the 5 would cause us to struggle. I wish they would just overide him as it's a small amount of minor work and the worst thing is, I have already waited a week just for him to send those two lines.

I'm gonna chill out a bit with the phone calls to lower the stress levels!
