I got 3 of these last time and whilst not as bright as a halogen they are acceptable so much so I have just ordered another 9.0

these 4 watt LED's will not give the same light as a the 50 watt halogen you are replacing, despite what they say in the blurb. I have installed 3 and rekon about equivalent to 2 halogens (Approx 70% of the light )You scullion! You rampallian! You fustilarian! I’ll tickle your catastrophe (Henry IV part 2)0

...so I needn't worry about dimming them , then!!...0

It would be nice to find a affordable led light that can actually replace a standard light or e27 ES GLS and candle that doesn't cost a arm and a leg. They are far too many variables and or dodgy sounding claims to make a decision as well.0

I wouldn't but from Groupon they take around 50% cut so I been informed so imagine how good that product is with there cut and the 3rd party plus costs of the item to make and ship over here from China0

If you search LED on the threads there are loads of views.
If you are prepared to spend £15 a pop then you might get close.
They aren't dimmable, as the load is too low, for the normal dimmers.
I have tried the cheaper varieties and didn't find them much good for general lighting, maybe OK for feature lighting. Also need to watch out for colour tone as the cool whites are very clinical, warm white is better IMO.
I have settled on GU10 CFLs for now (give a much more open light), not such a big saving but only 20% of what I was using before."If you act like an illiterate man, your learning will never stop... Being uneducated, you have no fear of the future.".....
