Monday 14th November What Small DFW Things Will You Do Today?!

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free
Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending. :money:
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important.
Good morning everyone!
Right, must be very MSE :money:this week as on Friday we're off to Cardiff for the weekend so don't want to feel toooo guilty about spending a little!
Today I will:
Check banks
Check CC
Check Paypal
Check TCB
Check Ebay - respond to question from bidder
Drive economically to work
Breakfast/lunch/dinner from stores
2lts water
Transfer money in partner's account
NSD other than above
Update MS Money with above
Find list of relatives who need Christmas cards
Change bed and hoover/dust/tidy bedroom tonight - will keep me distracted!
Work hard!
Sparkle!
Have a lovely day everyone!

Good morning moneysavers! Thanks to KJP for starting us off, hope you enjoy Cardiff on the weekend. I wish I had a short week like yours, Pernie, what are you doing for OH's bday?
I am a moneysaving mess. This month has gone absolutely mad and the ball is not only dropped, it has rolled across the floor and under the sofa :rotfl: I am in a pinch due to:
- buying my motorbike which should be a good long term investment but was obviously a big expense and i wont start saving until it arrives and I start riding it in a few weeks. It was a bit more than the amount I had put aside for it, though its new so hopefully wont break down and leave me stranded everywhere!
- buying tickets to Israel in December. There's a whole thread on the families board on this one - I'm going for the boy's dad's memorial service and though it should be cheap once we're there since we can stay with family and friends, the tickets were about 1k each () and getting my Israeli passport renewed is turning into a stressful mess (there is no embassy in country and the one in Kenya is rubbish at answering their phone and responding to emails!) and will cost at least another $100 or so
- not cooking at home and being social by eating out. After a full life of vegetarianism I have just started eating meat and good god its expensive! How do you carnivores do it?
So after that rant, I need to get myself in line!
Today:
- breakfast at home, lunch provided by work
- called embassy on work line, weren't much help but needed to be done
- Got confirmation from lawyers that my temporary visa is sorted, hooray!
- work hard as loads on and lots of deadlines
- going out to dinner for a friends birthday tonight, hopefully it will be the only time this week!
- meal plan and do some food shopping so eating in is possible - empty fridge at the mo!
Send me strength, guys....Mortgage free by 30:eek:: £28,000/£100,000
Debt free as of 1 October, 2010
