Freebie you've most regretted receiving

I went a bit mad on my first direct credit card freebie wine last night, the first bottle was lovely "Domaine Bosquet-Canet" and so I thought I'd try another.
BIG MISTAKE The "Monticello rosso" was definitely THE worst wine I've ever tasted.
It went down okay but then there was an incredibly nasty aftertaste which took me right back to my schooldays and cross-country runs.
Can a wine taste of the smell of silage ?
