Scrapping Air Passneger Duty - trying to organise a moneysavingexpert supportpetition

in Cutting tax
Dear All
I see that the government is trying to up Air Passenger Duty again. I keep being offended how high the tax on this duty, and how it just drives business abroad when we could easily spend money in the UK if the government just supported proper air transport rather than using it for cash.
I think it would be great to get a petition against this, but seeing how long it took for people to sign up to the financial education e-petition that Martin Lewis supported, it seems that some organisation is needed.
So the questions are:
(1) Is it feasible? (rather than having petitions of 30 people)
(2) Is it possible to get Martin Lewis' opinion on this?
(3) How can we publicise this if we go ahead?
All opinions gratefully welcomed
With Thanks

What tax would you like raised to replace the lost income?
Iif you think cuts elsewhere could cover the loss why should those savings be used to reduce APD rather than any other tax0 -
Given the choices available I am in favour of a much bigger increase in this duty, despite the fact that I'll be paying quite a lot of it.Hideous Muddles from Right Charlies0

Higher APD and scrap the forthcoming duty rises on petrol which really harms the economy including the less well-off and more marginal businesses like small taxi firms. Anyone paying APD can spare the cash in my view!Hideous Muddles from Right Charlies0

My main issue is that it seems to be money generation rather than any significant effort to improve climate or 'green' energy. It would be happy to pay it if I could see visible improvements, but all I see is more tax on airport, more tax on cars, making our day to day lives more expensive and difficult.0
