Man Spanx Question

Options
Hello,

I am thinking of getting a friend some man spanx for Christmas as he's constantly complaining about putting on weight.

Real Spanx, however, are about £70 (http://www.deadgoodundies.com/designer/spanx-shapewear). I was only looking to get this as a small present so was looking at spending about £40 MAX.

Does anyone have any experience of cheaper, perhaps unbranded men's underwear that does the same job but for a nicer price?

Any advice is very gratefully received.

Asda do some light control mens clothes aimed at this for very cheap, they do a t-shirt (presumably to go under shirts or jumpers?) that sucks them in a bit and other bits. Check that :)

Are you sure your friend would like this though? As opposed to erm suggesting a fitness class together and getting him a healthy cook book?

Marks and Spencers do some highly rated things, I think.

But I'd agree with the above, be certain that he will appreciate this or take it as a joke - it's a delicate topic! My male friends always moaned, and a friend did something similar, starting to mention if they'd joined the gym all the time. They acted like they found it really funny, but really it quite upset them.
  • Thanks very much for the suggestions- I've been looking at the M&S options, which seem to come highly recommended and are a bargain at £12 for a vest!

I appreciate the concern, but he'll be fine with it. His putting on weight is an on-going joke between us which he reciprocates with many personal jibes about me!! I actually think he'll really appreciate it as he's always on about getting clothes to cover up his gut because he doesn't actually want to get rid of it (i.e. stop eating crap and do more exercise)!

    Thanks again guys xx
