bipolar debt

Hi all
I have bipolar and borderline personality disorder. Over the last few years I have got myself into debt and am now finding it very hard and stressful to manage financially.
It started when i lost over £300 a month when I had my second breakdown and my children went to live with family as I was not well enough to look after them, and am still not.
My list of debts are in my signature below, might not seem much to some people but it is huge to me as i have never been in so much debt before.
I was wondering if anyone else suffers with mental health problems
and has got themselves into the same situation as me?
Hope there someone else like me

I have bi polar type ii and I have made more muck ups when manic its scary to think about it. I have on numerous occasions lost my full months wages gambling and last year owed my mum £5500 which now is down to £2000 and to be fair without her support I would have neither survived or be in the position I'm in now, you are not alone there are many people here to support you i will read with interest and good luckwater £82.00 Totally Paid June 2012, vanquis £290.00 Totally Paid July 2012, e.on £300.00 £189.00 Paid Sep 2012, Scott and co. £989 £918 Paid Oct 2012, s/p £400.00 £295 Dec 2012, o/d £2,000.00 Dec 2012, rent £1,600.00 Jan 2013, mum £1,500.00 £1,400.00 Feb 2013

I tend to spend when im manic as well, it seems i dont have a care in the world when im like that. I call it retail therapy lol, but not so much therapy once the bills start coming in, i would call it more like stress and tension, and then your back down the ladder and depressed. kind of like a vicious circle really.
although i think I have done really good this year as th only extreme thing i bought was a dyson hoover that cost me £300, was determined to have one and fought the urge for about 6 months and then gave in. Glad I did though as i have 3 cats and this hoover is fab for that.
If anyone justs wants to rant on this thread then you are quite welcome to. I know how hard it is when you have no one to talk to about your debts and how your feeling. I find sometimes that just one kind word can make all the difference.
I keep going and keep smiling but the mask dont last forever.
hi sparkles31, I have reduced one of my payments to £30 a month with no interest so thats not so bad, theres not much else than can be reduced as i have already tried, so will plod on lol.x
hi deep in well done for reducing your debt so quick in one yr, it will paid of in no time, but dont feel bad if you have a slip up on the way, unfortunately for us we are unable to control our judgement once manic.x :j0 -

hi skintas
i have sorted as much as i can financially i just have to keep on paying now and not over spend on other things making me unable to pay.
i dont go out anymore due to being a recovering alocoholic and im glad in a way as this stops the temptation to spend. when i was drunk i spent loads, not funny really but had loads off fun along the way haha.
anyhow main thing is im paying things off slowly but im having to go without many things that are essential. food being one of them. but as the saying goes you make your bed and you lay in it lol.
keep your chin up hun.x0
