I have 2 boys aged 2 and 3 and would like to do some Christmas crafts with his afternoon, while its chucking it down outside! . Have googled for inspiration, but just wondering if anyone can recommend any crafts that are easy enough for their age, with limited craft supplies?

Cover pine cones with glue & sprinkle glitter on it? Create festive display
Cut up coloured paper into strips & glue together as paper chains
probably more if I have a think..Lurking in a galaxy far far away...0 -
At their age pretty much any crafts can be adapted, as long as you do the cutting etc. Why not paint Christmas cards? When I worked at an out of hours school club I drew up lots of outlines of reindeer on a peice of paper and let the children colour them in (bare in mind they were 4 years old) they loved them, they all wanted to do it. If you have tissue papers you could rip them into squares and collage them?
A friend of mine is doing paper mache baubles, blow up a baloon (quite small) and make the paste mix (cornflour and water I think it is, equal part) dip strips of newspaper in and layer over the balloon. Let it dry over night in a warm room and paint the next day. If ou don't want to do balloons but fancy penguins/reindeer/snowmen etc then bunch up newspaper and tape together into the shape, keep layering with newspaper and taping until you have the desired shape. Coat with white paint and then you are good to go with painting. If you prefer you could decoupage (sp) them with colourful papers. Use pva to stick the papers on and coat with glue.
You could make salt dough decorations, or bake biscuit tree decorations and use hard boiled sweets in the middle to make a stained glass tree decoration, you need grease proof paper for that one though and varnish so that it doesn't go mouldy.Comping wishlist for 2017

How about doing some salt dough decs. Just use any cutter you have, either cook or leave them to air dry and then paint them ect. I made some on Thurs it was 2 cups flour 1 cup salt, 1 cup water. I did double this as my son makes some every year for the family and 6 children I look after done them. I have got 3 ducks and 3 trays of gingerbread men and women! We had loads left so on thurs me and the 3 yr old made our snowmen family which we will paint next week.
Also a craft I have also done every year is Reindeer. Draw round the childs foot and both hands on brown paper. Once cut out put the hands behind the back of the toe area of the foot. Just add eyes, nose and mouth. I put these up every year as it shows how much my son has grown as well as how he has developed in cutting ect.0 -
ds1 and dd was 2 and 3 last year and we did the following
collecting pinecones then spraying with gold spray (from £shop) and rolling in glitter. we then had these in a clear vase on the sideboard and they looked great
making paper snowflakes
we made baubles with hobbycrafts polystrene balls (was about 80p each). the kids coloured them in then added glitter glue to them. when they were dry i pinned some ribbon into the top and the kids gave these to their grandparents for their tree
paperchains
reindeer xmas cards. painted their hands brown, pressed onto card. added a couple of googly eyes and a red pompom for a nose.
in poundshop last year they sold a tub with 300 xmas foam stickers. the kids used these to make cards and pics to go in their rooms. we also got some foam xmas trees from hobbycraft was a fiver for 50 and they decorated them with the stickers and glitter glue. we then made them into bunting with ribbon and small craft pegs (quid from wilkos), this went in their room also.
this year we will probalyy do most of the above again. we'll also give salt dough a try and baking is always a winner in our house tooMummy to ds 29/12/06 dd 10/2/08 ds 25/5/11:Amy angel born too soon 18/11/12, always with me Emmie Faith:A15 projects in 2015 10/15completed0 -

i have a 3.5 year old and we have done a few things and few things are "to do".
paint snowmen on black paper or card.
glue cotton wool into snowmen - either on paper/card or make 3d ones
cut out snowflakes and get them to glue and glitter them
brown handprints, then later when dry, cut out the handprints and make them reindeer antlers, add eyes, red nose, etc.
cut out some baubles and let the kids decorate with glue, glitter, paint, etc.
good luck!0
