Mobile Phone Contract- Help Needed Re: Credit Check

Hi,

My apologies for making another thread, asking for yet more advice.

My Partner's mobile phone contract with O2 is ending (thankfully, as its expensive, 30 pounds a month). If she wants to get another phone on contract (one with a much cheaper monthly tariff), will she be subjected to a credit check if she were to go into say Carphone Warehouse but remain on the O2 Network?

I changed my phone and reduced my tariff with Vodaphone without any trouble, but I did mine over the phone and was already a Vodaphone Customer.

If it's an upgrade with O2 and done through the CPW - No credit check is done, they only check with O2 that you're eligible for upgrade.

Credit checks are only performed for new and additional contracts.

Oh and even with it being an upgrade it can be to a lower tariff. HTH's
