The times are getting very desperate for me :(

I'm having a horrible November, and I can't seem to get out of this financial quagmire.

I've had to shell out for three sets of repairs; A water tank that kept leaking which cost £145, some fuses blew quite badly on my fusebox and that cost me £126 and a gas fire has had to be serviced and will be condemened after the winter for £60.

On top of that, I've had various bills to pay, I owe EOn money with three months being owed. I've had to pay back a number of payday loans, one of which is due in the week for £110. I wish I stuck with one or none, as this is killing me off each month.

I'm down to £110 out of a £250 overdraft until November 28th. I've my own birthday next week in which I will have to live off the bit of money I get to stay afloat.

Added to this, I've stresses at home. My brother-in-law is in a small bit of bother with the police for something he hasn't done. On top of that, we forever hear about his girlfriend who he has got pregnant and her bizzare family who are Money Waster Experts! I'm often in disagreements with my partner over silly things. I have a snoring problem which is boiling down to a new bed being bought, but he is forever telling me off each night. I am too scared to go to sleep in case I wake him up.

Work is getting me worried; the boss from hell is on a secondement at a higher job, and is due back next month. No-one wants her back as she bullied us throughout and made a lot of threats. I've complained and I need people to help me make it go further, but sadly I can see her getting away with it, causing rifts in the team.
I've got to go a stupid conference for my team on Weds, in which the !!!!! is attending and we've got to pay for tea, coffee and a lunch! I don't want to go, and I feel like calling in sick.

This is desperation and I need help badly :(:(

  • Sorry you are having such a bad time - horrible when everything comes at once.
Can you spread the cost of the EOn bill over the year? Do you pay your council tax over 10 months? If so could you use the free months to try and get on top of things with the pay day loans? Sorry, don't have any particular advice with those but there seems to be a lot of helpful info on the forums.
As for making the money stretch, make a big pot of soup for work dinners. For less than £2 you can make something to last a week and feed both of you. Go over to the old style boards for tips about eating well on a shoe string.
Do you have anything else to come out of the £110? Make a list of anything due to go out and see what you have left then budget based on that.
Anything you can sell on eBay, carboot etc?
Make you birthday a romantic night in with a cheap bottle of wine. It's only a date (rubbish as it feels). You can celebrate properly once you get back on track. Try to make the most of the challenge of living off £110 - it can be done and you do get a buzz off small money saving efforts!
Hope December is better for you!
  • Thank you for advice.

What is worrying me is, Txtloan take their £110 out of the bank soon leaving me with zip all. Lending Credit and Wonga want £45 and £260 respectivly on November 26th, two days before I get paid. Is there anyway I can get around those?
