Useful spending tool (Natwest online banking)

I belong to Natwest online banking and I noticed that you can download your transactions to Excel, so I was curious about how much I actually spend in the supermarkets so downloaded from January 2011 to now and then sorted it into retalier order and focussed on my main one (Tesco).
I was shocked when i added it up to be £2808!!! Bearing in mind that doesnt include any cash transactions.
I divided this by 10 as that would give me a monthly figure so it worked out to be a £280 spend per month in Tesco's. shocking!!! I am now going to be much more restrained but I find it so hard as we live literally a 2 min walk from a ginormous superstore and I am addicted to the glitches on the money saving boards! Plus we are only two adults, a toddler and a cat so that is way overspending - now I know where my money goes!
So that was my Tesco's LBM!
Hopefully the Natwest option might help other money savers that might not keep a spending diary - you could always search for other shops or retailers that you use regularly x

I'd be terrified to do that!

I'm sure I used to spend at least that much and there's just me (dog & 2 cats).
Pop over to the Old Style board and join the Grocery Challenge - there's a great bunch of people on there who are happy to share tips and some fantastic recipes too.
