Assistance with Employment Tribunal if Union will not oblige?
Comments

Just ring round the Employment solicitors and ask, you will probably have to have a consultation though before they decide( this will be if you have a strong case) and some solicitors offer the 1st 1/2 hour free others you have to pay for. An employment law solicitor costs around £200 per hour!
By the sounds of it-you are going to have to put your hands in your pocket and pay or do it yourself or get down to the CAB, who do have employment law solicitors free of charge.
You should have been on to this straight away not have left it till a month before and then be scrabbling round!0 -
Not entirely my fault, I should say that the Union kept me waiting on their decision on whether to assist me until three weeks ago.0

i represented myself at an ET and won.
(well my sis came with me but only for moral support)
i requested the tribunal because I was made redundant whilst on maternity leave - but only found out by letter.
they ruled in my favour because the correct redundancy procedure had not been followed.
can you look into this to make sure they did everything by the book??0 -
I assume you have no legal cover on your home insurance as another way of gettting help? This is something I would advise everyone to have. I used it to put in an ET claim when my union failed to act to support me in a cast iron case and i won a payout. I also started a separate action against the union and they have settled too. Of course the legal insurance policies also use a 50% likelihood criterion so you have to try to be objective about the chances in your particular circumstances.0
